Well we did it. Thanks to each and every one of you for attending and making this the best Pipe, Drum and Honor Guard events ever held. Right here in the heart of Texas of all places.
Thanks to the City of Lewisville, Lewisville Fire Department, Lewisville City Council, Mayor Gene Carey, all our instructors, our vendors, our sponsors and to all our attendees. I think everyone had a great time and everyone was shocked at the size of the event and how well everything went. For that we can thank Scott Thompson, Jim Byers and Damion Roberts. All three of these guys worked tirelessly to make sure every detail was taken care of. A special thanks to Chief Bobby Halton. Chief your appearance was special but your speech was awesome. What a way to start this thing off. I dont think there was anyone in that room who did not want to stand up and yell when you were done. A very nice job with a speech that was from your heart. As if we would have expected anything less. Enough with the old lets talk about the new. We are already working on our 2009 Symposium. We have already confirmed Don Shannon and Steve Cameron to come back and coordinate instruction again. Jim Kilpatrick and Tyler Fry said they will be back so hopefully we will be graced with greatness in 2009. Some changes will be coming with Symposium. The National Honor Guard Academy will be hosting a week long academy in conjunction with the Symposium. We will still have our two day Pipe and Drum portion and the entire week will be capped off with an old fashion Muster and Honor Guard Competition on Saturday. Details will be coming so check back with the website for updates. Our dates for the 2009 KTA Symposium are as follows:
